Hunt for Hidden Treasures

Occasionally The Society for the Protection of Magical Creatures receives reports of magical activity in parks and playgrounds.  We try to investigate as many of the reports that we receive as possible by sending out Society research teams to do some digging and investigations.  And, if we find strange objects and things out of place, we advertise for children to join us on treasure hunting days and help us figure out what the Invisible Creatures might be doing with the objects and why they are collecting them, or maybe even “borrowing” them from the museum.

If the hidden treasures are particularly exciting we create an audio guide to help you find the objects without using a map or attracting the attention of non-magical passers by.  You can listen to the audio guide on headphones through a smart phone.  It’s a bit like Geocaching, the real world treasure hunt, if you’ve done that before.

So far we have hunted for Hidden Treasures at:

Stroud February 2022

Darlington July 2023

We will add dates for future treasure hunts here, but send us a message if you’d like to be on our Society mailing list and you will be the first to know!

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” – Roald Dahl
